The Fox CVC bocal is an early version, which would later be replaced by the Double Star *CVC* bocals. 

CVC bocals were created to provide a better match for thick wall style bassoons, including Fox model 601 and 660 bassoons. 

Fox CVC bocals are available in lengths 0 through 4, with 0 being the shortest.  Lengths #1, #2 and #3 are the "normal" lengths.  Avoid the extreme lengths #0 and #4 without good justification.
