Why don't you display instrument prices on your web site?
While we do have a suggested list price available, we market our instruments through our preferred dealers. They typcally price them somewhat less to considerabley less than our suggested list price. Please see our dealer section, where instrument dealers are noted with a "**".

What bocal should I get for a school instrument?
The best bocal for a school instrument is a #2C. A #2C is relatively inexpensive and provides good results under most conditions.

What is the difference between a CVX and a CVC bocal?
CVX bocals have larger bores and are typically used on models: 201, II, II, IV, 220 and 240. CVC bocals have smaller bores and are most commonly used with models 601 and 660.

My instrument is playing "sharp" (or "flat"); what bocal should I get to compensate for that?
Use longer bocals for instruments that tend to play sharp, and shorter bocals for instruments that tend to play flat. A bocal's length is designated by its number. The shorter the bocal, the lower the number; the longer the bocal, the higher the number.

Yes, although we suggest you go through a dealer, as our policy is to collect deposit or credit card number on bocals before shipment.

What's the difference between your Renard oboe reed and the Artist oboe reed?
The Renard reed is used primarily in schools; whereas, the Artist reed is shipped with each instrument and is preferred by professional players.

Where does your cane come from?
It is Glotin cane from France.

Do you make your reeds there, at Fox Products Corporation?
No, our reeds are made to our specifications by various commercial reed companies.

Where is the serial number on my bassoon?
It is stamped on the U-tube, beneath the boot cap. It's also written on the tenons.

If I order an item, how long will it take to get to me?
We try to ship orders on the day they are received. Most deliveries take 2 - 3 days.

Do you give factory tours?

What is the advantage of registering my Fox instrument?
While registering helps our record keeping pursuits, some good reasons to register are: 1. We receive calls regarding recovered stolen instruments & help them rejoin their owners; 2. We, optionally, send you information about new & updated products (such as 'high-resonance' bells) via our mailing list; 3. We validate your instrument's owner and repair history. Very handy if you ever decide to sell your Fox or buy another used one!
