This ring is attached to the bassoon by means of a base plate allowing the instrument to resonate more freely. This ring can be retrofitted to instruments that use a screw in style neck strap ring. The base plate complete covers the hole for the old neck strap ring. This neck strap ring cannot be used with a balance hanger.
